During his acceptance speech, the candidate for YPP House of Representatives candidate for Karu/Keffi/Kokona, Hon. Osisiogu Osikenyi, has pledged to run a grassroots-focused campaign ahead of the next election, saying the Young Progressives Party [YPP] is positioned to make a major impact.

Speaking to party members and supporters, Osikenyi said the YPP is no longer a minor player in Nigeria’s political landscape. “The motivation for the Young Progressives Party is no longer new. It is a major force for the next election,” he said.

Osikenyi, who said he draws on past experience in governance and elections, framed the contest as a fight for a generation he described as deprived of fair representation.

“My promise to you is that we are going to reach everyone in this campaign,” he said. “We will be tough when it requires us to be tough, and stubborn when it requires us to be stubborn. This time, our votes must be counted.”

He urged supporters to mobilize across units and communities to secure votes, stressing that the party would not rely on litigation after the polls. “The YPP is one of the new political parties in Nigeria with zero litigations. We don’t run to court. We have what it takes to win elections,” he said.

Osikenyi said the party intends to compete and win at all levels in the 2027 elections and beyond, and thanked supporters for their commitment.

“We are in this together. Our goal is to represent the people of Karu, Keffi, and Kokona and ensure their voices are heard,” he said.
