Tinubu Swears In Enitan as New Head of Civil Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF).

Enitan succeeds Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retired from office after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the State House, Abuja, and was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary, State House, Temitope Fashedemi, as well as other senior government officials.

His appointment took effect on August 27, 2026, following its announcement by the Presidency on August 19.

Before his elevation, Enitan served as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and was the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

As the new Head of Service, Enitan is expected to provide leadership in driving efficiency, professionalism and improved service delivery across the Federal Civil Service.

He takes over from Walson-Jack, who served as HCSF until her retirement upon attaining the mandatory retirement age.
