Ansarul Islam National Publicity Secretary Reaffirms Commitment to Service on Birthday

The National Publicity Secretary of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria (Home and Abroad), Alhaji Gesua Abdulyekini, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the ideals and mission of the Islamic organisation as he marked his birthday with a message of gratitude to Almighty Allah.

In a statement issued to commemorate the occasion, Abdulyekini reflected on his personal and professional journey, expressing appreciation for God’s guidance throughout his years in public service and religious leadership.

He recalled serving at Radio Kwara, Ilorin, where he also held office as Chairman of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union (RATTAWU) in Kwara State, a position through which he said he worked to promote the welfare of media professionals despite numerous challenges.

The Ansarul Islam spokesman revealed that although he once aspired to pursue active politics and build relationships with political leaders, he believed Allah redirected his path to the Ansarul Islam Society, where he has served as an active member for more than a decade.

According to him, his appointment as the National Publicity Secretary, after previously serving as the Ilorin Branch PRO II, is both an honour and a responsibility he accepts with humility and total submission to the will of Allah.

Abdulyekini expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Ansarul Islam Society at both the Ilorin Branch and national levels for the confidence reposed in him. He paid special tribute to the immediate past National President, Alhaji Afolabi Suleiman, for his mentorship and guidance.

He also acknowledged the support of several prominent personalities, including the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Olarewaju Suleiman; the National Missioner of the Ansarul Islam Society, Sheikh Abdulmumin Anafi Ayara; former General Secretary Alhaji Alada; the Society’s 3rd National Vice President, Alhaji Abdulkadir Funsho Abdulkareem; Dr. Fatai Dare Mogobon; former chairmen of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, Mallam Abiodun Abdulkareem and Mallam Umar; former NUJ State Secretary, Mr. Tayo Iyanda; Engr. Musa; the Registrar of Muhammed Kamaldeen University, Kamaldeen Muhammed; and other former national officers of the Society.

The National Publicity Secretary reserved special appreciation for his wife, Hajia Moriliat Gesua, his children, and his sons-in-law, Taofeeq and Musibawu, describing them as his greatest source of strength and encouragement during difficult times.

He reaffirmed his dedication to promoting the vision and legacy of Sheikh Muhammed Kamaldeen Ali Al-Adabiyy and pledged to continue working for the growth and progress of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria both within the country and internationally.

Abdulyekini prayed for wisdom, sincerity, patience and strength to discharge his responsibilities effectively while calling on Allah to continue guiding and uniting members of the Society in righteousness and service.
