Bala Mohammed Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Two Commissioners, Accepts Another’s Resignation

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reshuffled his cabinet, dismissing two commissioners and accepting the resignation of another as part of efforts to reposition his administration for improved service delivery.
The development was announced on Friday in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.

The commissioners relieved of their appointments are Mohammed Salis Gamawa, who served as Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who was Commissioner for Power, Science and Technology after previously heading the Ministry of Education.

Governor Mohammed also accepted the resignation of Hon. Faruk Mustapha, the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties. Mustapha recently defected from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Following the cabinet shake-up, the governor has transmitted the names of new commissioner nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

According to the statement, the nominees are also expected to fill other vacancies that have emerged in the State Executive Council.
The nominees will assume office after securing the approval of the state legislature.

Governor Mohammed expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their services and contributions to the development of the state during their tenure.

He wished them success in their future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving service delivery and advancing the welfare of the people of Bauchi State.
