New Era Begins: SOPTCAM FCT to Inaugurate First Elected Executive Team On Thursday

The Society of Practicing Television Cameramen (SOPTCAM), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, is set to inaugurate its first democratically elected Executive Committee (EXCO) on Thursday,  in Abuja.

The inauguration, which will be followed by a World Press Conference, is scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council Secretariat.

The event marks a significant milestone in the history of the association as it ushers in its first elected leadership, signalling a new phase of growth, professionalism and unity among television cameramen in the FCT.

Ahead of the ceremony, the chapter called on its members, media leaders and stakeholders to support the event by ensuring extensive media coverage.

SOPTCAM also urged participants to attend with their media organisations’ branded microphone flags, logos and cameras to enhance visibility and promote the historic occasion.

The association expressed optimism that the inauguration would strengthen its commitment to advancing the welfare and professional development of television cameramen while fostering greater collaboration within the media industry.

The event is expected to attract journalists, media practitioners, stakeholders and other invited guests from across the Federal Capital Territory.
