Police Arrest Self-Styled PFIPC DG Prince Adeyemi in Osun

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State.

Adeyemi was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation after weeks of investigations into the activities of the organisation, which government officials have repeatedly said has no legal backing or official recognition.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, confirmed the arrest in Abuja, stating that the suspect was taken into custody without incident and is currently undergoing further interrogation.

According to the police, Adeyemi had been on the radar of security agencies and was the subject of an intensive manhunt before his eventual arrest.

His arrest comes days after security operatives reportedly raided his family residence in a bid to track his whereabouts. During the operation, investigators were said to have questioned members of his family as part of efforts to locate him.

Adeyemi gained national attention following controversy surrounding the activities of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), an organisation that government authorities have consistently maintained is neither a recognised federal agency nor established under any law.

Police said investigations into the matter are ongoing, while further details are expected as the interrogation progresses.
