The National Leadership of Accredited Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Nigeria has honoured Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in recognition of his administration’s efforts in primary healthcare, nutrition, urban renewal and infrastructure development.
The governor received the Best Governor of the Year 2026 award in the four categories at the National CSO 2026 Summit held on October 2, 2026, at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The award, anchored by the Civil Society Coalition for Human Rights and other related organisations (CSCHEL), recognised what the organisers described as the administration’s achievements in healthcare delivery, nutrition and infrastructure development across Bauchi State.
Governor Mohammed was represented at the award presentation by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
Presenting the award, the Coordinating Director and Director-General of CSCHEL, Ambassador Kunle Yusuff, MON, congratulated the governor and commended his administration for its development initiatives in the state.
Yusuff said the recognition reflected the importance of initiatives aimed at improving public welfare and advancing development at the state level.
In his response, Gidado expressed appreciation to the organisers for recognising the governor’s administration, describing the honour as an encouragement to sustain people-oriented policies and programmes.
He dedicated the award to healthcare workers in Bauchi State, acknowledging their contributions to service delivery, as well as the people of the state for their continued support of the administration.
Gidado also noted that the recognition highlighted the importance of collaboration between government institutions and civil society organisations in promoting sustainable development.
He stressed that such partnerships remained vital to improving public services, strengthening accountability and ensuring that development initiatives addressed the needs of citizens.
The award places particular emphasis on primary healthcare, nutrition, urban renewal and infrastructure, sectors considered important to improving living conditions and supporting socioeconomic development in Bauchi State.
