As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares to flag off President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Kaduna, a medical team from Kano State has mobilised drugs, first-aid materials and emergency treatment equipment to attend to participants during the event.
The team, which arrived at the venue with two vehicles conveying medical supplies and equipment, said it was prepared to provide healthcare services to members of the public who might require medical attention during the campaign.
The medical mobilisation comes as the Health and Safety Directorate of the Presidential Governorship Campaign Council (PGCC) intensifies preparations to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the event.
The medical team said its supplies included painkillers, antacids, antiemetics for vomiting, drugs for diarrhoea and malaria, as well as other essential medications and first-aid materials.
.
It also brought equipment for wound dressing and suturing to enable medical personnel to manage minor injuries and provide immediate assistance where necessary.
According to the team, the decision to deploy medical personnel and supplies was informed by the need to prepare for possible health emergencies at large gatherings, where participants could suddenly fall ill or sustain injuries.
The team expressed optimism that the campaign flag-off would proceed peacefully and successfully, while praying for God’s protection throughout the event.
Speaking to Journalists shortly after the inspection, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhter, Deputy Director of Health and Safety in the PGCC, said the council was inspecting critical facilities and arrangements ahead of the campaign flag-off.
Mukhter, who spoke during an inspection of the venue, said the exercise was aimed at ensuring that all necessary preparations had been completed before the commencement of the programme.
She explained that the inspection covered the designated position of the President, exit routes and other essential facilities required for the smooth movement of participants and the conduct of the event.
“I am here to supervise and inspect the venue to ensure that all the arrangements have been properly put in place, and I am satisfied that everything has been done perfectly,” she said.
The PGCC official added that the team was checking the various arrangements to identify any outstanding issues that could affect the programme.
She, however, declined to disclose further details of the preparations ahead of the event, promising that more information would be made available during the campaign flag-off.
The preparations highlight the campaign organisers’ focus on venue readiness, emergency medical response and the welfare of participants expected to attend the APC’s presidential campaign launch in Kaduna.
