Bauchi 2027: Yakubu/Mahmood Ticket Gains Momentum Among Supporters

The emergence of Dr. Yakubu Adamu as the 2027 Governorship Candidate of the ruling Allied People’s Movement (APM), alongside Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar as his running mate, has continued to generate political excitement and renewed optimism among supporters across Bauchi State.

The ticket, according to its promoters, represents a strategic attempt to inject fresh energy, youthful dynamism and innovative thinking into the leadership of the state, as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Supporters of the duo have described the Yakubu/Mahmood combination as a team with the potential to provide energetic, resourceful and patriotic leadership, particularly at a time when Bauchi is seeking to consolidate its development gains and open a new chapter of growth.

They also commended Governor Bala Mohammed, popularly known as Kauran Bauchi, for what they described as his foresight in supporting the emergence of two young politicians with the capacity to provide purposeful leadership.

According to them, the choice of Yakubu and Mahmood goes beyond political succession, arguing that it reflects a broader consideration of the future direction of Bauchi State and the need to prepare a new generation of leaders to take responsibility for its affairs.

“The Yakubu/Mahmood ticket is simply too good. You cannot love Bauchi and not fall in love with this ticket,” one of the supporters said.

The supporters further described the two candidates as young, energetic, resourceful and patriotic, expressing confidence that their combination could provide the state with fresh ideas and a leadership approach capable of responding to contemporary economic and social challenges.

They said the emergence of the ticket has also created an opportunity for young people in Bauchi to become more actively involved in determining the political and developmental future of the state.

“By fielding these energetic, resourceful and patriotic young men, against all odds, to take the helm of our dear State, Kauran Bauchi has further reaffirmed that the future of Bauchi State matters a lot to him. He can’t love Bauchi more,” the statement added.

The campaign around the ticket is expected to intensify as political parties and aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 election, with issues of youth participation, continuity, economic development, human capital development, infrastructure and effective governance likely to dominate the political discourse.

For supporters of Yakubu and Mahmood, however, the immediate task is to build a broad coalition of citizens around what they describe as a shared vision for a stronger and more prosperous Bauchi.

They consequently called on residents, particularly young people and stakeholders across the state, to support the ticket and become part of what they described as an “imminent history” in Bauchi’s political development.

The supporters also offered prayers for the success of the two candidates, urging the people of Bauchi to embrace the ticket as the state approaches another decisive political transition.
