Tinubu 2027: Renewed Hope Advocacy, TSG Seal Strategic Alliance

The Renewed Hope People Advocacy (RHPA) has sought stronger collaboration with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing the need for coordinated grassroots mobilisation to consolidate the gains of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

Director-General of RHPA, Alhaji Armayau Abubakar, made the call when he led members of his organisation on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of TSG, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Abubakar said the visit was aimed at demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to unity, collaboration, strategic engagement and collective action among support groups working for the success of the administration.
He described RHPA as a strategically oriented advocacy platform committed to taking the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots.

According to him, the success of any political movement depends not only on leadership at the national level but also on the strength, commitment, coordination and visibility of its grassroots structures.

He said RHPA regarded TSG as a strategic partner in the broader effort to ensure continuity and consolidation of the achievements of the Tinubu administration.
“Our presence here today is to strengthen the bridge between our organisations, identify areas of mutual cooperation, harmonise our programmes and strategies, and ensure that our collective efforts are directed towards one objective: building a stronger grassroots political structure capable of delivering victory in 2027 and beyond,” he said.

Abubakar urged support groups to move beyond isolated activities and embrace coordination, data-driven mobilisation, effective communication and increased engagement with youths, women, community groups and other stakeholders.

He said the political process must remain people-centred, urging support groups to listen to citizens, understand their concerns and aspirations, and communicate the achievements and vision of the administration effectively.

He assured the TSG leadership of RHPA’s readiness to work with the group in the spirit of mutual respect, responsibility, discipline and loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Responding, Yakasai welcomed the RHPA delegation, describing the visit as significant and expressing appreciation for the group’s willingness to partner with TSG.

He said the visit was particularly encouraging because, according to him, it was the first time since he assumed leadership of TSG that a major support group with prominent delegates had formally visited the organisation to propose a partnership.

Yakasai commended RHPA for establishing structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as offices in several states.

He said the structures demonstrated the capacity of the organisation to mobilise at the grassroots and contribute meaningfully to the political process ahead of 2027.

The TSG director-general stressed that support groups needed to work together because no single organisation could mobilise all the votes required to secure victory for the president.

“None of us is contesting to be president of Nigeria. So there is no competition. The work is such that one person cannot deliver all the millions of votes needed for the president to win,” he said.

Yakasai recalled TSG’s historical role in the political journey of President Tinubu, noting that the organisation was involved in strategic meetings and delegate mobilisation ahead of the 2023 presidential primary election.

He said TSG remained strategically important to the president and disclosed that discussions were already ongoing on a new template for coordinating support groups ahead of the 2027 election.

According to him, unlike the 2023 model where numerous support groups operated centrally and often claimed responsibility for the same electoral outcomes, the proposed structure would decentralise operations to the state level.

He explained that under the proposed arrangement, leadership of participating support groups in each state would work directly with the TSG structure in that state.

“This will create synergy, accountability and recognition for those who actually work in particular states,” Yakasai said.

He added that the decentralised model would make it easier to determine the contributions of individual support groups and ensure that credit was given to organisations based on their actual grassroots activities.

Yakasai further disclosed that TSG would work with the leadership of support groups to develop a coordinated framework once campaign activities commence, saying the approach would help eliminate duplication and strengthen mobilisation.

He also said the leadership of TSG was open to receiving more support groups willing to partner with the organisation, particularly those with credible structures and the capacity to mobilise voters at the grassroots.

Yakasai assured the RHPA delegation that the TSG would facilitate further engagement with relevant political stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of support groups ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged the RHPA leadership to maintain contact with TSG and expressed optimism that the partnership would contribute to strengthening the grassroots campaign structure for the Tinubu administration.

Earlier, The National Publicity Secretary and Media Director of the Renewed Hope People Advocacy, Prince Adepuji Olatayo Teriba while introducing the organization said the organisation had established structures across the states, wards and all 774 local government areas of the country with chairmen to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Teriba disclosed that the organisation beyond Abuja currently has Secretariat in 10 states of the federation, as well as an international presence, as part of its preparations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
