Danladi Emerges on INEC Portal as APC Governorship Candidate for Kwara

Kwara Speaker, Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has been listed on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to reports, the APC has begun the nationwide digital submission of its governorship and State House of Assembly candidates to the INEC portal in compliance with the electoral timetable.

The exercise is said to be prioritising 16 incumbent APC governors seeking re-election, alongside the party’s governorship candidates in other states.

Among the incumbent governors whose names have reportedly been uploaded are Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Abba Yusuf (Kano), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Umaru Bago (Niger), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Agbu Kefas (Taraba) and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).

The list also includes first-time APC governorship candidates such as Obafemi Hamzat (Lagos), Solomon Adeola (Ogun), Ogundu Kingsley Chinda (Rivers), Eric Opah (Abia), Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi), Mustapha Gubio (Borno), Jamilu Gwamna (Gombe), Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (Nasarawa), Baba Malam Wali (Yobe) and Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (Kwara).

Danladi’s appearance on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal is being interpreted as confirmation of his candidature as the APC flag bearer for the 2027 Kwara State governorship election.

The development comes as the ruling party steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections, with its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department at the national headquarters in Abuja reportedly handling the upload of candidates’ details to meet INEC’s submission deadline.
