We Won’t Stop Until They Return’: Gov Makinde Meets Oriire Families Two Weeks After Abduction

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde yesterday met with relatives of pupils and staff who were kidnapped in Oriire area of the state two weeks ago.

The Governor appealed to them for calm and cooperation reassuring that the security agencies have step up efforts to secure their release.

Makinde acknowledged that words alone could not ease their pain, but assured them his administration is working “around the clock” to ensure everyone returns home safely.

Recall that gruesome incident happened on May 15, 2026 when armed men stormed three schools in Oyo State, abducting dozens of pupils, students, and school staff.

The meeting held at Ahoro-Esiele community had victims’ families, community leaders, and residents in attendance.
