2027: I’ll Defeat Gov AbdulRazaq before 1 O’clock’ On Election Day – Sen. Mustapha

Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha, has expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, should the governor contest the 2027 Kwara Central Senatorial election.

Mustapha, who is seeking re-election to the Senate, made the declaration while speaking on his political prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The senator said he remained confident of his popularity and political structure across the district, insisting that he would defeat the governor if both of them eventually emerge as candidates for the contest.

“I will defeat Governor AbdulRazaq before 1 o’clock,” Mustapha declared, according to Channels Television.

The statement comes amid growing political manoeuvring in Kwara ahead of the 2027 elections, with the battle for the Kwara Central senatorial seat expected to attract significant attention.

AbdulRazaq, who is serving his second term as governor, has been linked to a possible bid for the Kwara Central Senate seat after the expiration of his tenure, although the political permutations ahead of 2027 remain fluid.

Mustapha, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has continued to consolidate his political base in Kwara Central as he seeks another term in the Senate.

His latest comment is expected to further heighten the political contest in the state, particularly within the APC, as influential politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
