NAOC Puts Soldier on Wanted List Over Suspected Supply of Military Kits to Terrorists

The Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, NAOC has declared one of its personnel, Private Mohammed Yusuf Amutu wanted for alleged involvement in the illegal sale and supply of military uniforms to terrorists and other criminal groups.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Corps said preliminary investigations showed that Amutu, who was serving at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory deserted his unit on June 3, 2026

According to NAOC, appropriate military authorities have placed the soldier on a wanted list and manhunt operations are ongoing to apprehend him for investigation and possible disciplinary action under military law.

“The Nigerian Army maintains zero tolerance for misconduct, indiscipline or any act capable of undermining its operational effectiveness, integrity and reputation or threatening national security,” the statement said.

The Corps warned that any military personnel found aiding terrorists, criminals or other non-state actors through the unauthorised sale, diversion or distribution of military uniforms, accoutrements or other controlled items will face both military and civil prosecution.

NAOC appealed to members of the public to provide credible information that could lead to Amutu’s arrest. It urged anyone with useful information to report to the nearest military formation or security agency.

The Corps reaffirmed its commitment to accountability and professionalism in safeguarding military assets. It added that internal control measures will be strengthened and all allegations of misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, with those found culpable held accountable.
