The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ to embrace entrepreneurship, create opportunities and uphold the core values of the scheme as they complete their national service.
The Director-General gave the charge in a farewell message to the outgoing corps members, congratulating them on the successful completion of their service year and commending their patriotism, resilience and dedication to national development.
In the message issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC chief described the corps members’ contributions to their host communities as a lasting legacy that would continue to inspire future generations.
The Director-General said the outgoing corps members had demonstrated the true spirit of service through their commitment to national unity, selflessness and the collective good of the country.
He noted that the community development projects initiated by the corps members, alongside the positive impact they had made on the lives of people in their host communities, would remain part of their contributions to Nigeria’s development.
“As you transition into the next phase of your journey, I encourage you to boldly harness the knowledge and skills gained through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme,” the Director-General said.
He urged them to become innovators and job creators by applying the skills acquired during their service year to establish businesses, explore new opportunities and contribute to economic growth.
The NYSC boss also encouraged the outgoing corps members to remain guided by the scheme’s core values of patriotism, integrity, efficiency, commitment, teamwork and self-reliance in their personal and professional pursuits.
According to him, upholding these values would help them overcome future challenges, pursue their aspirations and assume leadership roles in their various fields of endeavour.
He further called on the graduates to contribute to national unity, progress and development, regardless of where their future careers and personal aspirations might take them.
The Director-General expressed optimism that the outgoing corps members would continue to uphold the ideals of the NYSC and use their knowledge, talents and experiences to make meaningful contributions to society.
Wishing them success in their future endeavours, he urged them to remain purposeful, ambitious and committed to making a positive difference in their communities and the country at large.
“May your journey ahead be bright, purposeful, and filled with success and fulfilment. Go forth and make your mark on the world,” he said.
The Director-General concluded the farewell message by congratulating the corps members once again and wishing them the best as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
“Nigeria is ours, Nigeria we serve,” he added.
