Akpabio Bags Arewa Revival Project Award, Pledges Support for Northern Youths

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has pledged support for initiatives aimed at empowering youths in Northern Nigeria, particularly in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion.

Akpabio gave the assurance while receiving the Par-Excellence Award from the Arewa Revival Project (ARP) in Abuja, in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s democratic and legislative development.

The award was presented to the Senate President on behalf of the organisation by its Project Coordinator, Hon. Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim, during a ceremony in the Federal Capital Territory.

The recognition, according to the organisation, reflects its commitment to honouring distinguished public service, promoting national unity and encouraging leadership that advances peace, development and the welfare of Nigerians.

Speaking during the presentation, Ibrahim said the award was an expression of appreciation for Akpabio’s contributions to democratic governance and national development.

He also called for stronger collaboration among political leaders, community organisations and other stakeholders to address the challenges confronting Northern Nigeria, particularly those affecting its youth population.

In his response, Akpabio thanked the Arewa Revival Project for the honour, describing it as an encouragement to sustain efforts towards national unity, stability and development.

He emphasised the need to provide young Nigerians with meaningful opportunities to contribute to national development, noting that investment in youth empowerment was essential to building a stronger and more inclusive country.

The Senate President called for sustained cooperation among the Federal Government, state governments, community leaders and youth organisations to expand opportunities for young people, especially in Northern Nigeria.

According to him, initiatives that promote education, vocational training, entrepreneurship and economic participation could contribute to addressing insecurity, promoting peace and achieving sustainable development.

Akpabio also urged stakeholders across Northern Nigeria to support President Bola Tinubu and his administration, including its re-election bid.

He said continued public engagement and support for the administration’s programmes would be important in advancing its development agenda.

The Arewa Revival Project congratulated Akpabio on the recognition, expressing optimism that the award would strengthen collaboration among public office holders, community organisations and other stakeholders towards building a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
