The All Progressives Congress (APC) says its campaign flag-off in Kaduna will test the party’s mobilisation capacity ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Senator Osita Izunaso expressing confidence in a massive turnout of supporters.
Izunaso, who spoke ahead of the rally, said the party was making arrangements to manage the expected crowd and ensure a smooth campaign launch.
He described the event as an opportunity to demonstrate the APC’s organisational strength and set the pace for its nationwide campaign.
“Crowd control is what we are working on because we know that more than the expected crowd will be here tomorrow. This is our flag-off, and we are going to make it big,” he said.
The senator added that the rally was expected to rekindle public hope in governance, noting that the party had put measures in place to accommodate supporters attending the event.
Port Harcourt Next After Kaduna
Izunaso disclosed that the APC would move its campaign activities to Port Harcourt on November 7 after the Kaduna flag-off.
He described Kaduna as a test case for the party’s mobilisation strategy, saying the outcome would demonstrate its readiness for subsequent campaign activities across the country.
“By the time we move from Kaduna, we are moving to Port Harcourt on the 7th of November. So Kaduna will be a test case,” he stated.
Seven North-West Governors to Receive Campaign Flags
As part of the campaign launch, the seven governors of the North-West are expected to receive campaign flags alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Izunaso, the governors will take the flags to their respective states to drive grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the party’s campaign structures.
He also revealed that the APC had developed a nationwide campaign plan covering all 36 states, with Tinubu expected to visit at least 12 states.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, he said, would lead campaign activities in states the President would not visit, ensuring broader coverage during the campaign.
APC Expresses Confidence in Campaign Organisation
Izunaso said the party had put the necessary organisational arrangements in place to coordinate its activities and sustain engagement with Nigerians.
He expressed confidence in the party’s support base and pledged that the APC would continue working to meet the expectations of its supporters.
“So we have organised ourselves very well, and it is going to be seamless. Nigerians are happy with us. They love our party, and we want to make them happier by doing the right thing all the time,” he said.
The Kaduna rally is expected to mark the commencement of the APC’s broader campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the party seeking to consolidate its grassroots networks and coordinate its mobilisation efforts nationwide.
