2027: ADC’s Fayose Unveils Development Agenda, Promises Youth Empowerment, People-Centred Legislation

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, Otunba Emmanuel Ajisafe Fayose, has pledged to prioritise people-oriented legislation, youth empowerment, economic opportunities and accountability if elected into the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

Fayose, popularly known as DOME, made the pledge on Thursday, October 22, 2026, during the flag-off of his campaign awareness drive and support event organised by the Otunba Emmanuel Fayose Campaign Organisation at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

The candidate is seeking to represent Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Ekiti State at the National Assembly.

He said his ambition was motivated by the need to provide purposeful representation and address challenges confronting residents of the constituency, including unemployment, insecurity, inadequate electricity, poor healthcare services, educational deficiencies and infrastructural gaps.

Fayose called on voters to prioritise policies, practical solutions and measurable achievements over political personalities and party slogans, stressing that effective leadership should translate into improved living conditions for the people.

Outlining his legislative agenda, he promised to sponsor and support bills aimed at improving rural infrastructure, strengthening education and expanding social investment programmes.

He said his approach to lawmaking would focus on translating the needs and aspirations of constituents into policies that deliver tangible benefits to communities.

On economic development, the ADC candidate pledged to pursue initiatives that would expand access to micro-grants, vocational training, skills acquisition and agricultural support for young people, market women, traders and aspiring entrepreneurs.

According to him, such interventions would encourage self-reliance, stimulate local businesses and create sustainable economic opportunities across the constituency.

He also emphasised the importance of youth development and grassroots participation, noting that young people and small-business owners deserved greater opportunities to contribute to economic growth.

Fayose said his proposed development agenda would promote inclusive growth by ensuring that empowerment programmes respond to the needs of ordinary citizens, particularly those seeking opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

On accountability, he promised to maintain an open-door policy, hold regular town hall meetings and establish effective feedback channels to enable constituents to communicate their concerns and assess his performance.

He stressed that representation should not end with a lawmaker’s presence in Abuja but must involve sustained engagement with the people and responsiveness to their needs.

Describing his aspiration as a collective mission rather than a personal ambition, Fayose appealed to the people of Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I for their prayers, advice, trust and support.

He expressed his commitment to pursuing a development-focused mandate anchored on effective representation, economic empowerment, improved infrastructure and transparent leadership.

The ADC candidate urged residents of Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun to support his aspiration, expressing optimism that people-centred representation would contribute to a more prosperous future for the constituency and Ekiti State.
