Oyedele Pays Tribute to Fasoranti, Celebrates Legacy of Integrity and Service

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has paid tribute to the late Pa Reuben Fasoranti, describing him as an exemplary elder statesman whose life embodied integrity, principled leadership and unwavering commitment to public service.

Oyedele, in a condolence message following the passing of the Afenifere leader, who lived from 1926 to 2026, said Fasoranti’s 100-year journey was marked by dedication to the public good and exemplary service to the nation.

The minister particularly highlighted the late statesman’s tenure as Commissioner for Finance in the old Ondo State under the administration of former Governor Michael Ajasin, describing his record as a model of prudence, accountability and ethical financial management.

According to Oyedele, Fasoranti’s approach to public finance remains a valuable lesson for contemporary economic managers and public office holders.

“As a proud son of Ondo State, I share in the grief of our people,” the minister said.

He noted that the most meaningful way to honour the late elder statesman’s legacy was for leaders to embrace the values of discipline, fairness and commitment to the public interest that defined his life.

Oyedele also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Fasoranti family, members of Afenifere and the people of Ondo State over the loss.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul, stressing the importance of preserving the principles and values he upheld throughout his lifetime.

Fasoranti’s passing marks the loss of a prominent figure in Yoruba socio-political affairs whose contributions to public service and national discourse earned him respect across generations.
