Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Tuesday received the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Prof. Justin Green, on a courtesy visit to his office in Lafia.
Prof. Green was accompanied by the President and Chairman-in-Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), alongside other officials of the professional body.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration in public relations, communication management, education and leadership development, particularly in connection with the proposed establishment of the world’s first university dedicated to Public Relations and Leadership in Nasarawa State.
During the visit, the delegation commended Governor Sule for his leadership style and his commitment to education and human capital development.
They particularly acknowledged the governor’s decision to support the establishment of the specialised university, describing the initiative as a significant contribution to the development of the public relations profession and leadership education globally.
The proposed institution is expected to provide specialised training and academic programmes in public relations, strategic communication, leadership and related fields, while positioning Nasarawa State as a centre for professional and academic excellence in the discipline.
The delegation also expressed appreciation to the governor for creating an environment that supports initiatives capable of attracting national and international attention to the state.
Governor Sule, in receiving the delegation, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to initiatives that promote education, professional development and human capital advancement.
The engagement further provided an opportunity for the Nasarawa State Government, the NIPR and the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management to explore areas of cooperation in advancing public relations education and professional practice.
