The Africa’s Monarchs, Arts, Culture and Tourism Awards (AFRIMACT Awards) will honour 17 distinguished personalities, royal figures, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for their contributions to the promotion of Africa’s arts, culture and tourism.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026, at the NECA Events Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The organisers said the recipients were selected in recognition of their leadership, professional accomplishments, philanthropy, community service and contributions to various sectors of society.
Among the personalities to be honoured are HRM Oba (Dr.) Muraina Adebanjo Adedini, Asoya of Ile Isoya Kingdom; Princess Dr. Toyin Kolade, Iyalaje Oodua; Dr. Betta Edu; Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Executive Chairman, Onigbongbo LCDA; and High Chief Habeeb Olalekan Okunola, MON, OFR, Founder of Habeeb Okunola Foundation.
Others are Chief Adekunle Victor Alonge, President, Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers of Nigeria; Chief Mrs. Kehinde Adelaja Okoroafor, Olori Omo Oba Obinrin Ile Isoya; Dr. Yeye Folashade Shona Aluko, Yeye Bobajiro Oodua; Chief Mrs. Jumoke Abegunde, Founder, Jummy I Care Foundation; and Dr. Israel Olajumoke, CEO, House of Destiny.
The list also includes Ayomikun Adebayo Oyetoro, CEO, Fab Realty and Tourism Ltd; Bashorun Oladapo Sofowora, Bashorun Ile Isoya Kingdom; Abimbola Ige, CEO, Celeb Beauty Clinic; Chief Babs Abraham, CEO, Buka Atlanta; Ebunoluwa Adebayo Festus, actor; and David Hinvi, strategist.
According to the organisers, AFRIMACT was established to recognise individuals and institutions whose initiatives contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage, advancement of the creative industry, tourism development, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and community development across Africa.
They said the awards would go beyond celebrating personal accomplishments by highlighting individuals whose activities have created value in their communities and contributed to Africa’s socio-economic and cultural development.
The event is expected to bring together traditional rulers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, entertainers, cultural advocates and other distinguished guests.
The organisers said the gathering would provide an avenue to celebrate Africa’s rich heritage while recognising personalities who are contributing to shaping the continent’s future through their various endeavours.
The AFRIMACT Awards will be held alongside the Miss Africulture Nigeria 7.0 Grand Finale, combining beauty, culture, heritage and entertainment in a celebration of African excellence.
The organisers expressed confidence that the event would further promote appreciation of Africa’s cultural identity while creating opportunities for networking and collaboration among stakeholders in the creative, tourism and business sectors.
