AVM Monday Morgan Emerges President of Kwararafa Development Forum

Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan (rtd.), the Akii of Kwararafa Kingdom and former Chief of Defence Intelligence, has emerged President of the Kwararafa Development Forum (KDF).

His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated August 27, 2026, and signed by His Majesty, Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali Matakhitswen, the Aku Uka of Wukari and Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Morgan, an Idoma son, is expected to bring his extensive military, leadership and traditional experience to bear in promoting unity, peace, cultural preservation and sustainable development among communities linked to the Kwararafa heritage.

His emergence followed a major stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, which brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, professionals, academics and representatives of various cultural groups connected to the Kwararafa identity.

The new leadership is expected to usher in renewed efforts towards strengthening unity among Kwararafa communities, preserving their cultural heritage and promoting development across the region.

Morgan’s appointment marks what stakeholders described as a new chapter in the pursuit of greater cohesion, cultural revival and sustainable development within the Kwararafa family.
