Comrade Amb. Victor Monday Olajide (JP) has endorsed Oteniete for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency seat ahead of the January 2027 election, describing him as the candidate best positioned to drive accelerated development in the constituency.
Olajide, who made the endorsement in a statement issued from his media office, said his assessment of the candidates contesting the seat showed that Oteniete stood out through his vision, substance and leadership trajectory.
According to him, Akoko-Edo requires “rapid, unprecedented and accelerated development,” stressing that stakeholders and progressive-minded citizens should rally behind a candidate capable of delivering the needed transformation.
The endorsement came shortly after Olajide graduated from the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD), following a year-long leadership development programme.
Reflecting on the training, Olajide said it reinforced his conviction that leaders seeking public office must demonstrate what he described as the “DSTV” leadership model — Dynamic, Strategic, Transformative and Visionary.
He explained that being Dynamic requires leaders to adapt to changing realities, particularly in the areas of ICT, media, communication and image management, while remaining committed to their core values.
On Strategic leadership, he noted that vision must be backed by effective planning, investment, entrepreneurship and sound financial management to translate ambitions into achievable development programmes.
Olajide said Transformative leadership should focus not only on projects and policies but also on developing people, mentoring the next generation and building institutions capable of surviving beyond individual leaders.
He described Visionary leadership as the ability to look beyond immediate circumstances, develop clear goals and pursue them with discipline, citing leadership habits, executive responsibility and lessons from exemplary leaders as essential components.
“Leadership is not a title conferred. It is a discipline repeatedly chosen — in decisions that attract no applause, in standards upheld when inconvenient, and in growth pursued long after one has ‘arrived’,” he said.
Olajide expressed appreciation to God and the leadership of Centre LSD, particularly Dr. Otive Igbuzor, Mr. Monday Osasah and the faculty, for what he described as the quality of the programme, its facilitators and the scholarship extended to more than 200 students.
He challenged voters in Akoko-Edo to critically assess the leadership qualities and developmental capacity of candidates before making their choice.
“The question before Akoko-Edo is simple and urgent: Is your preferred candidate leading like a DSTV Leader — Dynamic, Strategic, Transformative, Visionary? Or is he merely occupying a title?” he asked.
Olajide concluded by urging the people of the constituency to support Oteniete, declaring: “The choice is clear. The time is now. Oteniete for Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency – January 2027.”
