The Nigeria Police Force has paraded four suspects allegedly linked to an organ harvesting and human trafficking syndicate operating in Nasarawa State at the weekend.
Among those paraded were two medical doctors identified as Dr Benjamin Oyime, 48, a nephrologist and consultant to Wellington Hospital, Life Camp, Abuja, and Dr Daniel Otukpa, 53, also a nephrologist and Acting Director of Clinical Services at the hospital.
The other suspects are Emmanuel Ode, 23, and David Idoko, 25.
The suspects were arrested on August 19, 2026, by operatives of the Special Tactical Squad during a sting operation at Auta Balefi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, according to Punch Newspapers.
Iniedu said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly involved in the recruitment and exploitation of victims for illegal organ harvesting.
He added that Ode allegedly confessed during interrogation to recruiting victims under false pretences.
The police said investigations were ongoing to uncover the full extent of the syndicate’s activities and identify other persons who may be connected to the alleged operation.
