NFF Sacks Super Falcons Coach Madugu, Technical Crew

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has directed Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, and other members of the team’s technical crew to vacate their positions with immediate effect.

The decision was announced by the football governing body on Monday in a brief statement posted on its official X account.

“The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has asked members of the technical crew of the @NGSuper_Falcons to step down with immediate effect,” the federation stated.

Madugu’s exit comes on the heels of the Super Falcons’ disappointing campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria crashed out at the quarter-final stage.

The nine-time African champions were edged 1-0 by perennial rivals Cameroon, ending their title hopes and increasing scrutiny of the team’s performance under Madugu.
