A political support group, the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Initiative 2027, has endorsed Barrister Zainab Ibrahim Abubakar as the preferred deputy governorship running mate to Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, the group said the endorsement followed consultations among APC stakeholders in Taraba State, describing Ibrahim as a competent and loyal leader with the capacity to serve the state.
Tsoken, who is also the National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG), said Ibrahim’s endorsement reflects confidence in her leadership qualities and commitment to public service.
He described the APC Deputy National Women Leader as a seasoned politician and legal practitioner who has contributed significantly to the mobilisation of women within the party across the country.
According to him, her emergence would strengthen women’s participation in governance and promote inclusive leadership in Taraba State.
He said the development sends a strong message that women have a critical role to play in decision-making and governance, adding that it would inspire greater participation by women and young people in politics.
The group called on APC members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, women, youths and other stakeholders in the state to support what it described as the proposed Kefas/Zainab ticket in the 2027 election.
Tsoken expressed confidence that the partnership would promote unity, peace and sustainable development in Taraba State.
There has, however, been no official announcement from Governor Agbu Kefas or the All Progressives Congress (APC) confirming the nomination of a deputy governorship running mate for the 2027 election. The endorsement reflects the position of the support group.
