29 Young Minds Graduate from O’Delight Kiddies Academy with a Call to Lifelong Learning

For the 29 graduating pupils of O’Delight Kiddies Academy, Abuja, the colourful graduation ceremony held on Saturday was more than a celebration of academic achievement.

It was a reminder that every milestone in education is the beginning of a new journey, one that demands resilience, discipline and an enduring commitment to learning.

The academy celebrated the graduation of 29 pupils, comprising 15 Primary Five students moving on to secondary education and 14 Nursery Two pupils advancing into primary school.

Parents, teachers and well-wishers gathered to witness the occasion, which showcased not only the pupils’ academic progress but also the values of discipline, confidence and excellence that the school has worked to instill over the years.

Speaking to journalists at the event, the Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Eunice Uzodimma Dike, described graduation as a stepping stone rather than a destination, urging the pupils to remain focused as they move into higher stages of learning.

According to her, the annual graduation ceremony is designed to celebrate pupils who have successfully completed one phase of education and are prepared for another.

She stressed that education remains a lifelong process that requires continuous dedication.
“Education is endless. Graduation is not the end but a continuous process. Every child should remain focused and continue putting in their best as they move to the next stage of learning,” she said.

Mrs. Dike challenged the graduates to embrace learning with determination, noting that academic success is built on consistency, hard work and the willingness to keep improving.
She also reminded parents that their involvement remains critical to the academic and moral development of their children.

According to her, children thrive when they receive love, encouragement and adequate educational support at home.

“I urge parents to continue showing love to their children and provide everything they need for their education because the support they receive at home reflects in their behaviour and academic performance,” she said.

While celebrating another successful graduation, the proprietress used the opportunity to draw attention to an infrastructural challenge affecting the school.

She appealed to the government to rehabilitate the access road leading to the academy, saying its poor condition creates difficulties for pupils, teachers and parents commuting daily to the school.

She expressed optimism that improving the road network would make learning more accessible and create a safer environment for children.

For the Headmistress and Primary Five teacher, Mrs. Ifunaya Arinze, the ceremony represented years of dedication, sacrifice and divine grace.
She recalled that the graduating pupils had spent five formative years at the school, expressing gratitude that they completed their studies safely and successfully.

“We are grateful to God for seeing them through. Today is a celebration of their achievements and the beginning of greater accomplishments ahead,” she said.

Mrs. Arinze encouraged the pupils to remain confident, hardworking and committed to excellence, assuring them that the educational foundation laid by the academy would prepare them for greater opportunities in life.

She urged them never to underestimate the knowledge and values acquired at the school, expressing confidence that they would become successful professionals and responsible leaders. The celebration also provided parents with an opportunity to reflect on the impact of the academy.

One of them, Ambassador Abdulrazak Shuaibu, the FCT Commandant of Citizens for Peace and Conflict Resolution of Nigeria, praised the school for combining academic excellence with sound moral upbringing.

Having enrolled all four of his children at O’Delight Kiddies Academy, he said the institution had consistently demonstrated its ability to nurture confident and disciplined learners.

“My children passed through this school and they are doing very well. The quality of education and discipline here is commendable. What the school produces is exceptional,” he said.

Shuaibu called on corporate organisations to partner with the school through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly in improving infrastructure that would further enhance teaching and learning.
For the graduating pupils, the day was both emotional and inspiring.

Speaking on behalf of her classmates, Omoside Omodara Simi, one of the graduating Primary Five pupils, expressed appreciation to the teachers for their patience, dedication and guidance throughout their years at the academy.

She described O’Delight Kiddies Academy as a disciplined institution that had equipped them with knowledge, confidence and good character.
She pledged that the graduating class would uphold the school’s values and remain worthy ambassadors wherever they continue their education.

As the pupils tossed their graduation caps into the air amid applause from proud parents and teachers, the message of the day resonated clearly: graduation is not the finish line but the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

For the 29 young graduates of O’Delight Kiddies Academy, the ceremony marked not only the end of one chapter but the opening of another—one filled with new classrooms, greater opportunities and the promise of brighter futures built on the foundation of education.
