The Proprietress of O’Delight Kiddies Academy, Mrs. Eunice Uzodimma Dike, has urged graduating pupils to remain committed to their education, describing graduation as the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning rather than its end.
Mrs. Dike gave the advice while speaking to journalists during the academy’s annual graduation ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday.
She said the event was organised to celebrate pupils progressing from one level of education to another, particularly those advancing from nursery to primary school and Primary Five pupils preparing for secondary education.
According to her, the academy has sustained the tradition of celebrating academic excellence through its annual graduation ceremony, which recognises pupils’ achievements and encourages them to strive for greater success.
“Education is endless. Graduation is not the end but a continuous process. Every child should remain focused and continue putting in their best as they move to the next stage of learning,” she said.
The proprietress advised pupils to take their studies seriously, stressing that education remains one of the greatest investments parents can make in the future of their children.
She also called on parents to continue supporting their children by providing the necessary educational materials and encouraging them to excel academically.
“I urge parents to continue showing love to their children and provide everything they need for their education because the support they receive at home reflects in their behaviour and academic performance,” she added.
Mrs. Dike, however, appealed to the government to rehabilitate the road leading to the school, lamenting that its poor condition makes movement difficult for pupils, teachers and parents.
She specifically called for the repair of the access road leading to the academy to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment.
Also speaking, the Headmistress and Primary Five teacher, Mrs. Ifunaya Arinze, described the graduation ceremony as a celebration of the pupils’ academic success and God’s faithfulness throughout their years of study.
She noted that the graduating pupils had spent five years in the school and successfully completed the phase without any major incident.
“We are grateful to God for seeing them through. Today is a celebration of their achievements and the beginning of greater accomplishments ahead,” she said.
Mrs. Arinze encouraged the pupils to remain hardworking, confident and determined, assuring them that the strong educational foundation they received at the academy would prepare them for future success.
She urged them never to underestimate the knowledge they had acquired, expressing confidence that they would become outstanding leaders and professionals.
A parent, Ambassador Abdulrazak Shuaibu, the FCT Commandant of Citizens for Peace and Conflict Resolution of Nigeria, commended the school for its commitment to academic excellence and character development.
Shuaibu, who said all four of his children attended the academy, noted that the institution had laid a solid educational foundation for them.
“My children passed through this school and they are doing very well. The quality of education and discipline here is commendable. What the school produces is exceptional,” he said.
He appealed to corporate organisations to support the school through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to improve its infrastructure and learning environment.
One of the graduating Primary Five pupils, Omoside Omodara Simi, expressed appreciation to the teachers for their dedication and guidance throughout their years in the school.
She described O’Delight Kiddies Academy as a disciplined institution and pledged that the graduating pupils would continue to be good ambassadors of the school wherever they go.
