VIDEO: OPHK Repels ISWAP Attack on Buratai, Says Terrorists Suffer Heavy Losses, No Troops Killed _Air Force ISR and precision strikes decisive, Theatre Command confirms_
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, repelled coordinated ISWAP attacks in the early hours of June 19, 2026, on military positions at Dusten Kura and Chara Road in Buratai, Biu LGA, Borno State.
Theatre Command spokesman, Capt. Mohammed Goni, said alert troops backed by credible intelligence launched a swift air and ground counter-attack to break up the assault.
According to Goni, Nigerian Air Force ISR platforms and precision air strikes proved decisive. The strikes disrupted the terrorists’ formation, inflicted heavy casualties, and forced the attackers to flee in disarray.
“The Command wishes to state that no casualties were recorded among our troops,” Goni said. “The terrorists, however, suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.”
He added that troops are consolidating gains in the area while surveillance continues to prevent further incursions.
OPHK urged residents and the public to remain vigilant and provide timely intelligence to security agencies to sustain the momentum against insurgency.
