The YAYI Vanguard Empowerment Foundation has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola on his emergence as the 2027 All Progressives Congress consensus candidate for the Ogun State governorship election.
In a statement issued Thursday, May 1, 2026, and signed by its President, Mr. Abiola Olukunle Moses, and General Secretary, Hon. Afisanwo Adetayo, PhD, the Foundation described Adeola’s candidacy as a “unifying moment” for Ogun State.
The group said Adeola, who represents Ogun West in the Senate, formally submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms, declaring his commitment to serve the state.
It cited his record in Ogun West, listing projects and interventions including scholarships and bursaries for over 5,000 students, construction of ICT centres and classroom blocks, and distribution of educational materials across the five local government areas.
On empowerment, the Foundation said Adeola facilitated training and starter packs for thousands of youths and women in trades such as tailoring, ICT, fish farming, hairdressing, and welding, alongside cash grants for SMEs and market women.
Infrastructure projects linked to the senator include installation of over 100 transformers, solar street lights in rural communities, township road construction and rehabilitation, and motorized boreholes for potable water.
In healthcare, the statement noted free medical outreaches, donation of drugs and equipment to primary healthcare centres, and support for vulnerable groups. Agricultural support included distribution of fertilizers, seedlings, and farming implements.
The Foundation said Adeola’s blueprint for Ogun State is anchored on consolidating those achievements statewide, with priorities in industrial growth, agricultural transformation, quality education, affordable healthcare, youth employment, and improved security.
It called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, students, artisans, market associations, and all Ogun indigenes to support Adeola’s bid, saying the state is “assured of transparent, inclusive, and result-driven leadership” under him.
The YAYI Vanguard Empowerment Foundation, a registered NGO focused on grassroots development and socio-economic empowerment, said its structure across Ogun’s 20 local government areas is ready to mobilize for victory.
