In a statement signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ayo Oluwaseun Martins, on behalf of the AIG, Morris expressed sympathy to the families of the victims and the entire Ayilamo community over the loss of lives.
The AIG assured residents of Benue State that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to protecting lives and property and maintaining public safety across the zone.
He directed that all available operational and investigative resources be deployed to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for the attack.
Morris warned the perpetrators and their collaborators that the police would not relent until those behind the violence were brought to justice.
The AIG also commended the gallantry, courage and professionalism of police personnel from the Police Mobile Force, tactical teams and conventional units who responded to the attack.

To strengthen security in Ayilamo and prevent further attacks, the AIG approved the deployment of additional personnel and operational assets to the community and surrounding areas.
