The Executive Chairman of Tarka Local Government Council, Hon. Yenge Raphael Aondoaseer, has flagged off the construction of a 5-kilometre road linking Waterboard, Annune Market Square and Ijor-Imenger communities in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State.

The road, which begins from Waterboard, passes through Annune Market Square and terminates at Ijor-Imenger, is expected to improve connectivity, movement of people and goods, as well as boost socio-economic activities across the area.

Performing the flag-off ceremony, Chairman Yenge commended Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his support and commitment to ensuring that Tarka Local Government benefits from the road project.

He described the project as a significant intervention that would improve the living conditions of residents, enhance economic activities, strengthen security and provide better access to communities within the local government.

Yenge also expressed strong support for Governor Alia’s administration, saying the governor deserved another term in office in recognition of what he described as his administration’s rapid transformation and commitment to the development of Benue State.

Speaking at the ceremony, the contractor handling the project, Engr. Nabil El-Nassar of TR. ACTA NIG. LTD., thanked Governor Alia and Chairman Yenge for entrusting his company with the project.

El-Nassar appealed to youths and residents of Tarka to support the construction company to ensure that the project was completed within the stipulated timeframe.

He was accompanied by the Engineer’s Representative for the project, Engr. Paul Akem; Director of Maintenance, Engr. Segun Akade; and Deputy Director, Ministry of Works, Benue State, Engr. Saka Oliver.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Roy Terna Ashirga, commended Governor Alia for what he described as his developmental efforts across the state.

Ashirga also appreciated the governor for supporting the Tarka Local Government Chairman and called on residents to continue supporting the administration.

Speaking on behalf of the Tarka APC family, the party’s Chairman, represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Moses Num, commended Governor Alia for initiating the road project and pledged the party’s support and cooperation toward its successful completion.

Similarly, Chief Solomon Norma Nguetyo, who spoke on behalf of the Tarka Traditional Council, and Comr. Tyonenge Tsughul, representing the youths, applauded the governor for the project.

They pledged the support and cooperation of traditional leaders and youths to ensure the successful and timely completion of the road.
FirmNews reports that the flag-off ceremony was attended by government officials,

traditional leaders, APC stakeholders, youths, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders from across Tarka Local Government Area.
