The new Governing Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has been inaugurated to provide strategic leadership in expanding electricity access across Nigeria.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tegbe urged board members to make the welfare of citizens their guiding principle.
“Most importantly, I encourage you to continually ask one fundamental question whenever decisions come before the board: ‘How does this improve the lives and livelihoods of ordinary Nigerians?’
If that question remains our compass, I have no doubt that the agency will continue to exceed expectations,” he said.
REA Managing Director, Abba Aliyu, also thanked President Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged that the agency would intensify efforts to take power to underserved and unserved communities through rural electrification and off-grid programmes.
With the inauguration, the new REA board formally begins its tenure. Fayose is expected to provide strategic direction and oversight as the agency works to achieve its mandate of improving electricity access nationwide.
